This is my late MerMay painting of a Koi Carp styled Mermaid.

I took a more impressionistic approach to the scales than in my previous mermaid painting, where I painstakingly rendered each one. Instead I used dabs of the brush to quickly block in the scales. I think the result is pretty convincing.
