Skull and Rose

I wanted to draw a skull and added the rose to introduce some colour and help balance the image. I like the way the checkerboard colour shading came out. The rose is perhaps a bit larger than it should be in relation to the skull, but I could not figure out how to make it smaller while keeping the same amount of definition in the petals.
