Succubus originated from an image that just popped into my head one day of a crouching demoness with huge horns.

The background was developed in Photoshop while I coloured the figure. I was conscious that many of my recent paintings haven't contained real backdrops and so I wanted to make an effort here. I just noodled around, trying out several ideas, until I came up with the final background. It seems to fit the subject, plus it provides an excuse for some heavy back lighting.
