A vampiress enjoys a drink in front of her fireplace.

This is my very late 2020 Spooktober image, completed just in time for me to start this years piece!

I tried the technique of painting the values first and then layering on the colour. I actually prefer the black and white version before I coloured it, so I've included that below. I don't feel like this method works well, it always seems like a colourised black and white photo unless you overpaint it a lot and that sort of defeats the purpose of doing the values in detail. Perhaps it is best suited to initially roughing out an image. Still I think it was useful to try as an experiment to improve my understanding of values.
